THE BOXCAR COWBOY When trains once ran in Prince Edward County, there were workers, passengers and drifters. And then there was the teen from Hillier who rode the rails and came to be known across the country as the BOXCAR COWBOY. Based on a true story, it is one saga of many that forms the chronicle of a region. Recipient of a 2021 Public Art grant from PECAC, Beaubien is the first to receive funding from the organization for a project in the spoken word. “We found his unique, place-based approach compelling…connecting the audience to an aspect of our region’s history.” - Janna Smith, Executive Director, Prince Edward County Arts Council Directed by John Burns, Produced by Lori Ference. Featuring Peter Snell, Carol Snell and Colleen Johnson. Music by Nicholas Peat. Lighting by Phil Dowling. Pre- show music by Peter Solmes. A traveling caravan, open air performance, a wheel of fortune…theatre in classic vintage style!
