Join Fort William Historical Park for Voyageur Winter Carnival this Family Day Weekend! Come out and enjoy plenty of fun indoor and outdoor activities, including sledding and tubing hills, winter games and contests, visiting the farm animals, and much more!

Admission

Tickets will be available for purchase at the Visitor Centre the day of the event.
Pre-sales are available for large groups only (20+ people). There is no discounted rate for large groups.

  • Adults: $12
  • Seniors, Student & Youth: $10
  • Children 5 & Under Free

Activities, Entertainment & Contests

Enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities including:

  • Snow maze and snow fort
  • Large tubing hill and small sliding hill
  • Snowshoeing
  • Axe Throwing
  • Curling
  • Snow snake
  • Visiting the farm animals
  • Crafts and tea making
  • Furs of the fur trade educational program
  • Learn about Anishinaabe winter traditions and techonologies
  • Visit Fort William's historic buildings and meet historical characters

What to Bring

  • Dress for the weather – Many activities take place outdoors.
  • Cash – There is no ATM available.

Getting Here

  • Car – Fort William Historical Park is located at 1350 King Road, Thunder Bay. Parking is free.
  • Bicycle – Cyclists are welcome. Bike racks are available to use free of charge.
  • Thunder Bay Transit – Fort William Historical Park is part of the 4 Neebing bus route. Please visit the City of Thunder Bay Transit website for specific bus route information.
  • Snow Machine and River Access – There are no admissions via the Kaministiquia River.

Pets

Pets are welcome at Fort William Historical Park, however, we ask that you adhere to the following when your pet is on our property:

  • Pets are not permitted inside the Cantine Restaurant, Gift Shop, McGillivray’s Landing, or the Café Kam.
  • There is outdoor, pet-friendly seating available at the Cantine Restaurant.
  • Please clean-up immediately after your pet using a disposable bag and place it in an outdoor waste receptacle.
  • Service animals are allowed in all places to which the public is admitted.
