"Jenn"

My mother, who is eighty-five, was starting to fade away and I was alone at this time. I sat on the edge of the bed and I just said, “Mom, it’s time for you to go. You don’t have to stay anymore, I’m here.” I could see her face already relaxing even though she couldn’t respond. Her breathing started to get calmer. And just then, my favourite song on UCB Radio came on: "Breathe." I thought, “Lord, you are so awesome. You’re putting on my favourite song, and it’s exactly about breathing."

In that moment I could feel God’s presence enter the room. I felt a total peace in my heart. My mom just peacefully passed. Just stopped breathing. So, I just laid there on her chest. I waited until the song was over. But I wasn’t crying. I had so much peace. I thank UCB for being there for me in one of my most needed moments.
