Andrea Loewendorf

Head of Immunology, UCB Canada Inc.

Andrea Loewendorf is an accomplished global leader with over two decades of experience in the biopharma industry. As the Head of Immunology Canada at UCB, she spearheads UCB’s immunology strategy, translating vision into field execution and driving positive impact on patients.

With her extensive background, Andrea has successfully orchestrated global product launches, consistently prioritizing patient needs and bringing groundbreaking therapies to market. Notably, she set the global commercial strategy for a recent launch and has spent the past six years leading market access teams in the U.S. and across the globe. Her strategic vision extends beyond traditional boundaries, encompassing innovative approaches to market access, digital transformation and brand excellence.

Andrea holds an undergraduate and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Duke University in Durham, NC, both with a focus on science and healthcare. She is a passionate champion of diversity and inclusion, Women in Leadership, and currently serves on the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association Global Board of Directors Nominating Committee, contributing to industry-wide progress.

Andrea resides in the Greater Toronto Area with her family and, outside of her professional endeavours, enjoys athletic and outdoor adventures. Her commitment to transforming patient lives aligns seamlessly with UCB’s mission and values.

Chander Sehgal

Head of Access, Sustainability and External Engagement, UCB Canada Inc.

20 plus years of experience in health systems and bio-pharmaceuticals sectors, both private and public.

Chander Sehgal is an Oncologist with nearly 20 years of experience in both private and public bio-pharmaceutical sectors. He has spent 15 of those years in leadership roles, specifically in Pricing and Market Access. He has worked with well-known companies like Pfizer, Merck, GSK, and Teva in Canada. In addition, Chander led the national Health Technology Assessment (HTA) program, also known as the Common Drug Review, CADTH (now CDA-ACM) in Canada. He also spearheaded initiatives in Economic Footprint analyses, and Pricing policy and analytics at Innovative Medicines Canada, an association for the innovative pharmaceutical industry in Canada.

Since joining UCB Canada Inc. in August 2023, Chander has built a new team of internal experts in HTA, Access, Pricing and External Stakeholder engagement, promoting an integrated cross-functional approach. Chander’s strategic approach to improving patient access is backed by a deep understanding of patient needs and a commitment to UCB's vision of empowering individuals to lead fulfilling lives.

Chander's educational background, which includes an MD with specialization in Oncology, an MBA, and a certification in Health Economics have enabled him to apply his skills to address business problems while keeping the patients at the front.

Chander enjoys learning new things and sees challenges as opportunities for growth in his professional and personal life. Outside of work, he has a passion for running marathons and practicing Yoga. He’s also a certified Yoga and Meditation instructor, sharing his knowledge and love for these practices with others, reflecting his alignment with UCB's dedication to making a meaningful difference in the community.

Lisa Arbuckle

Head of Rare and Epilepsy, UCB Canada Inc.

Lisa Arbuckle is an accomplished leader with over 20 years of experience in the biopharma industry. As the Head of Rare & Epilepsy at UCB Canada, she is dedicated to championing UCB’s neurology strategy and ensuring innovative solutions are brought to life to support patients living with neurological conditions.

Lisa brings deep expertise in the Canadian healthcare landscape, gained through her diverse roles in medical affairs, sales, and operations. Her collaborative approach and passion for connecting people to impactful solutions have established her as a trusted partner to patients, healthcare professionals and stakeholders.

Lisa holds an undergraduate degree in Nursing Science from Queen’s University and a Master of Business Administration from Athabasca University. Her background in healthcare keeps her passionately focused on improving patient care and outcomes.

Lisa lives in Toronto with her family. She loves staying active and finds joy in spending time outdoors, whether hiking the nearby trails or cycling with friends. With strong ties to Mexico, she is learning Spanish and continues to immerse herself in the culture and beauty of the country.

Alessandra Marinello

Head of Legal, West IC

Alessandra Marinello is an experienced and results-oriented international legal counsel, working for UCB since 2012.

Based in Brazil, São Paulo, Alessandra is the legal lead for Americas providing legal advice for Canada and Latam UCB affiliates (including Mexico and Brazil).

Over the years in the pharma industry, Alessandra acquired a solid experience on management and operation of legal department, working with multinational and multicultural business environments and ability to play a business partner role with a solution-oriented and risk/benefit-based approach.

Alessandra holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Universidade Mackenzie (São Paulo Brazil), a master’s degree in Contract Law from Pontificia Universidade Catolica de São Paulo, Brazil (PUC-SP) and a MBA in Business Law from Fundação Getulio Vargas, São Paulo, Brazil (FGV – SP).

Alessandra lives in São Paulo, Brazil with her husband and her 2 daughters. She loves yoga and meditation and is a passionate enabler of DEI initiatives in her region.

Edgar Salas

Ethics and Business Integrity Lead, UCB Canada Inc.

As the Ethics and Compliance Lead, Edgar Salas manages and evaluates the effectiveness of UCB Canada Ethics & Compliance program. As a member of the Canada Leadership team, Edgar’s commitment to leading ethical and compliant behaviour at UCB helps deliver value to our patients now and in the future. Prior to joining UCB, Edgar spent eleven years in ethics and compliance, internal audit and continuous improvement roles at other companies.

Edgar joined UCB in the Ethics & Compliance Team in 2018 as Ethics & Compliance Director of UCB Mexico. In 2022, Edgar was part of the Ethics and Compliance Solutions Team to manage global initiatives designed to co-create maximum patient value. Today, Edgar is leading the effective implementation of UCB Canada Ethics & Compliance program and the execution of the new UCB Canada strategic ambition.

Edgar holds a B.A. in financial management from Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey at Mexico, a MSc in Supply Chain and Operations Management from the University of Nottingham in the U.K., and a Digital Transformation Diploma from Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey at Mexico. He continually hones his expertise through active engagement with industry by participating in health forums.

Outside of the office and in harmony with UCB's aspirations, Edgar participates in activities that support local health initiatives, and activities that embrace diversity, equity and inclusion.
